skywatch over jericho turnpike...




in mineola. it was hard to pick a photo for today. I happen to be in a place where there were lots of wide open spaces with big skies affording me multitudes of diverse photo ops. I picked this one because I liked the contrast between man made and nature. the sky looks to me as if it is pressing down on the traffic.


I also happened across this school field and its beautiful sky. which one would you have picked?

Both images are very interesting. The first for the contrast between the street and the sky; the second for the green landscape.

The skies are huge and magnificent in both but I'd opt for the second just because it's got more green in it....

Woud have been a hard pick! For me, I would have used both on different days, but that's because I'm coming into about 9 months of the same, clear blue sky every day, so I'm saving up for those days. Your top photo is more spectacular, but the bottom one is so nice because of the green, green grass.

I think I would pick the first one because I like the contrast between the dark clouds and the "bright" traffic.

My favorite is the top one also. It looks like some crazy alien could pop over the edge of the clouds there and start picking up the vehicles to race across the wires- oops! my imagination got away from me!

Both photos are really good but my favourite would be the second one, mainly because that is the sort of environment that appeals to me,I'm definitely not a lover of cities and traffic. :)

Both are quite nice. I had to smile when I saw Jericho Tnpk, as I grew up in the Syosset/Woodbury area & haven't been back in over 20 years. Jericho Tnpk brings back memories...

It amazing how someone could add power lines to a picture and have it look artistic.
I've looked at power lines and haven't yet come up with any thing.
