we will never forget

I heard on the news that construction has finally begun on the new Freedom Tower. Wow, it took them 7 years to do that. Bloomberg wants it done by 2011, during the 10th anniversary.
BTW, Chuck Pefley of Seattle's daily blog will be in town this weekend. I'm getting a group of fellow daily photo bloggers together to meet him for drinks on Sunday around 2 PM. If you are interested, please e-mail me and I will forward you the details as I get them.

On Sept. 13th, 2001, I had felt compelled to write about my experiences during that dark day. It was thrapeutic. I e-mailed it to everyone in my address book; the story of the common man, someone who was in Manhattan that day, but not DIRECTLY affected. I hastily reposted an updated version on my blog site in an effort to drive home this very same point. We should never forget! The small tattered flag outside our home needs replacing, but it does hold a small amount of sentimental value as it was put there in the days immediately following.

Ming, I just heard on the radio this morning that this year is the last year the families will be able to go down to the site for their memorials because of all of the construction.I hope that isn't true. I think there needs to be a temporary one put in place until they are finished with the permanent one.

Thanks Bobbie & Bill.

Morty, your essay is a real document of what happened to all of the people who were in Manhattan that day and survived. Thanks for sharing it.

It's still painful.

Being that you didn't write anything, I'm at a loss for words. Beautiful...
