an evening in manhattan...

it isn't unusual for many long islanders to experience. last night I took the five fifteen train into the city along with many hockey fans wearing rangers' jerseys. we parted ways at penn station when I left on the # 1 train heading downtown. I arrived at barnes & noble half an hour early, listened to a great reading by none other than heather b. armstrong herself, from dooce.com fame, got my book signed and I was back on the train & home by 8:15. this is one of the things I love about living here, there are so many things to do and a lot of them are free.
