back to reality, Nor'easter hits Long Island
this is what it looked like outside earlier today. by 5:45 pm large wet snowflakes mixed with sleet shut down the long island expressway (a major thoroughfare used by commuters) - perfect timing for rush hour. later penn station was closed and then finally reopening by 8pm tonight. for the last two hours I have been hearing snow plows & fire sirens.
what about all of our displaced neighbors who have no homes, no schools & no workplace? I am afraid they will be more devastated because of this storm. yet if you follow the news there are many people from all over this great country helping those affected by sandy. thank you great country.
I found this red cross link today that lists places including some on long island for those who need food & other services. please pass it on to those in need.
also, if you are so inclined please repeat after me, dear lord, please make this storm go away, and please restore those who do not have power, amen.

and once again on the UWS its like nothing happened ...
Now with this storm there are more outages. My brother who was w/o power until last Saturday just lost power again. so I think I can speak for many when I say thank you!
thank you Shell!
Daryl, it is a good thing - the less problems for anyone helps us all! it's hard not to have survivors guilt but everyone I've talked to or read about who are most affected by Sandy want so desperately for things to return to normal - it's so unsettling.
Keep up the good work, and never mind survivor's guilt.
