the tree at rockefeller center

I can't believe it, but somehow I missed this years tree lighting! as of last wednesday the tree at rockefeller plaza is lit up in all it's glory and will remain so until 11pm on january 7th, 2013. I usually plan to watch the ceremony on tv and I was sure the tree lighters usually light the tree in early december. 

I shot this last year after christmas while in town for a MOMA visit. I also came upon this musical surprise directly across the street from the rock. in case you can't see it in person, (because it really is amazing to see live from the street) here is the link for this years show.
