couldn't help thinking of this quote when I went to see our accountant last night,
"In this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes." ~benjamin franklin
it must have been my pondering the letter D all day that made me think of it. because guess what? for this abc wednesday meme, today's letter is D! so I waited until this morning to photograph the bethpage cemetery right here in farmingdale. if you'd like to see others interpretations of the letter D, please go here, thanks to our gracious host mrs. nesbitt.
have you done your taxes yet?

Good post, Lily. My taxes ought to be done before the first of April. I don't like it very much. But somebody does this for me.

No the dreaded taxes are still looming over my head. I know I can't put it off too much longer.
Great and very original posting for the letter D.

I love that quote. So true.
Just mailed in my taxes. I hope to avoid the other certainty for a few more decades.
Interesting "d" word, and great photo of the cemetery.

No haven't done my taxes yet!
I'm retired so have a small income.
Yes, this is a lovely peaceful black and white shot.
I love your pictures of LI - you capture it exactly and so very well.

Yes I have - AND I got a refund, so it was worth the pain!

You asked about planting bulbs over at my place. If your ground's not very muddy or frozen you can do so, otherwise plant them up in pots with some compost and wait until the weather gets better to plant them out. Hope that helps!

Thanks everyone for the nice compliments on the photo. & I'm glad everyone liked the quote too.

Carol, I actually thought this was a Shakespeare quote. I'm glad I looked it up!

& thanks VP about the bulb advice, much appreciated.
; )

Life with K,
it was fine! don't be worried. It's so much better knowing what the deal is than not knowing what is going on. & the earlier you find out, the more time you have to prepare. Good luck to you this year.

Lily, I think the quote is really perfect. I'd say: "sometimes unjust taxes"!!!

LOL...Boy that's true..We need to pay taxes so that the banks can get money from the taxpayers....

That quote is so true! And you've chosen a very interesting looking cemetery to illustrate the point.

On behalf of the team, thanks for taking part in ABC Wednesday! :)

Great photo! Black and white is perfect for this theme. And no, we haven't done our taxes. My husband always leaves that until the last second. That's why it's so stressful, not because we haven't kept records and receipts. Ugh.

Cool interpretation! And oh, so true, that quote. ;-)
