Autumn Skywatch Over the Massapequa Preserve

I'm wondering if there will be any leaves left on this tree by the time I get back to the nature preserve this sunday. the last I heard we are supposed to have sixty degree weather this weekend. what's the weather like over by you?
if you'd like to gaze at more wondrous skies from all around the world or if you'd like to add your own sky, please visit the skywatch friday meme, thanks to klaus and his team, sandy, wren, and sylvia.

Oh, gorgeous colored leaves and how fantastic against that very blue sky! I love it! As for here, it was miserable -- gray skies, rain, wind, cold! Tomorrow we're supposed to have some sun and I hope they aren't fooling us!! We've had a little of everything, but a lot of gray, rain and not so cold, but chilly and not much fun to be out in! Hope you have a great weekend! Enjoy!

That why I love Fall. The splashes of brilliant colors makes me smile!!

What a lovely capture, and the contrast of the pure blue sky is quite remarkable.

Like sunsets, I never get enough of autumn leaves. Beautiful.

How beautiful the red leaves look with that blue sky as a backdrop. I am so enjoying all the autumn colors right now.

love the vivd red in those leaves, that is nice and warm for a last breath of indian summer, it has been about the same here with a delayed start to summer and lots of cloudy afternoons
What a great capture of our season in transition! Will be fun to see what is there now!

really? 60 degrees?

I feel as if the weather can't decide what it is. This week, especially. The mornings are kind of cold but then it's surprisingly okay outside by lunchtime.

You're lucky to have such vibrant trees around you. I love Fall for that. Now if only they had more trees in Midtown...

Great colors and a great sky. Although we had some lovely weather recently (above 60 degrees even at my house and 80 in parts of the state), this morning it was 16 degrees when I went outside to take some photos of the snow and ice.

Incredible color against the sky. I love it. And 60-degree weather sounds wonderful. I'm hoping it gets above freezing here this afternoon so I can go out to do some things and leave the dog outside.

Thought I would chime in here. First off, really nice blog and nice photos! Great work!!

And yes, 60 degree weather today through Sunday! Sunny for the rest of today and tomorrow with just a few clouds on Sunday. Highs will probably range between 60 and 64 this weekend. Enjoy!!

Just an FYI, I run a Long Island/Tri-State area website if anyone wants to check it out: http://www.HammerOutTheWeather.com

I look forward to more great photos Lily! Again, great job!

What a riot of colour. It's windy and overcast here today, but with patches of sun and pleasant temps. Can't make up its mind! Have a beautiful weekend, Lily.

Love the brilliance and highs of Mother Nature you've captured here, Lily. Hope your return there on the weekend is just as rewarding.

I so much like looking the sky through the leaves. When the air is lightly blowing through them, and brings the perfumes of the season, it is bliss.
The reds in your photograph are amazing, and may I say, so natural.
Thanks for sharing. Enjoy the weekend.
