laurel and lily's of northport

remember the painting I posted from portofino's the other day? after the cafe, as ian and I walked through the town we found this beautiful florist and garden shop. it was like stumbling upon a treasure. the first thing you see upon opening the door is a christmas tree decorated with such wondrous imagination you feel a bit like you've walked into the wardrobe from the chronicles of narnia. the setting was made complete by a heavenly and welcoming soundtrack playing at just the right volume. the friendly (but very busy, decorating) shopkeeper was welcoming as well not batting an eye when I asked him if I could take pictures. he was also kind enough to stop and chat with us a bit, making us feel doubly welcome. it turns out laurel and lily is hosting a holiday celebration along with their neighbor's heartichoke, another delightful shop right next door. the celebration begins friday & saturday november 19th & 20th from 10am - 9pm and sunday the 21st from 10am - 5pm. refreshments will be served. lily's address is 145 main street in northport village.
* this is not an advertisement, just a wonderful place to go and check out if you're into this sort of thing.

Sounds like a really nice shop, and it makes me feel all Christmas-y already.

Lovely. I think I need that nice big Peace sign to wear around Canada. Not exactly as a protestor, because our Prime Minister sics the cops on protestors, but I could tell people it's my middle name. If they don't read my blog they won't know my middle initial is L.
