I came across this at the metropolitan museum of art last week when my husband noticed something amazing about this steel strongbox. he wanted to know how anyone managed to save this key for so many hundreds of years? I would really love to know too, I bet there are some interesting stories. check out the other interesting details on the box below. if you'd like to see more shadows or if you want to join in the fun, please visit hey harriet's shadow shot sunday meme. a big thank you to tracy for hosting shadow shot sunday.

A box full of mysteries.
Very nice capture.
I like the first shot.
Beautiful pictures, how many details in this box. Very intriguing indeed!
Now that is gorgeous old strongbox and it is surprising that the original key for it still remains. Isn't the key just lovely? I wish keys were still made like that today. Modern keys are so bland in comparison!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend :)
I just love the Met and also that they allow photography in some exhibits. great photo....they have so much neat stuff in that place!!
the insides of that box is supercool. It's hard to believe someone engineered it to work.
Hope your weekend was a good one, Lily!
Wow...I'm speechless. I've not seen anything so interesting in all aspects like this for a long long time.
Your comments are always welcomed as is your company!! Have a great Sunday!

It would be interesting to know what that box stored or was used for. Looks like some kind of fighting tools. PGma
