it's hard to believe these are made for human consumption. has anyone ever tried these? & if so, are they any good? today is mellow yellow monday and though I'm a bit late in the day there's still time to head on over to drowsey monkey'smellow yellow monday meme and join in the fun.
Oh my goodness, they're littler and cuter than ether bunnies! I don't think I know anyone who has actually eaten one, but I have some grandchildren, and young nieces and nephews who may have. -- K

My college roommate used to like them, but only after they sat out in the open container until they were stale and chewy. I have also given these to my nieces in their Easter baskets, with strict instructions not to eat them. Instead, what they do is insert a couple of toothpicks in them and put them in the microwave to stage a peeps sword fight.
I used to love these. Always the pink ones. They are pure sugar and make your teeth ache when you eat them. Kind of like the old timey sugar eggs with the scenes inside. Only soft. Now I just smile at the memories they evoke.
how have you not had Peeps? They are pretty good, like a good quality marshmallow with sugary coating. I'm good for 1 box a year, to share for dessert. They are also good for color in the Easter basket. Best fresh, but dirty secret is they are good stale and dry.
OMG—peeps! We put a purple peeps in a somewhat inaccessible place at work one year—and rediscovered it about 6 years later. What a laugh! (And, no, we did NOT eat it.)
hehe... I just love to give these away because they are so dang cute, but I actually HATE to eat them. i gag. :(... too bad. Glad people like them cuz I like to look at them - hehe
You have heard of LI & its many stereotypes? You wonder if they may be true but wish not to risk visiting in the event that they are. Be bold then & visit me daily & I promise I will show you many sides of Long Island that you will be both amazed & inspired by.

ha, is it nearly that time again?!
It's difficult to believe that one candy item can invoke so many distant memories. These 'peeps' have been around for a longggg time!
I think that my kids loved them as children. I, myself have never eaten a one!
