Walking down 6th Avenue

please click on photo for greater detail.

yesterday, I watched as the clouds completely covered the empire state building. I must have taken a few dozen shots as I watched the sky change the view in the random way that only mother nature has the power too. just as I was about to leave 6th avenue I quickly turned and snapped this picture. I felt like she saved her best for last. thank you mother nature!

the last few fridays I have been participating in skywatch fridays. go here if you would like to view beautiful skies from all around the world.

Beautiful picture. Love your other shots as well. I'll be spending the day on the other side of Long Island Sound tomorrow in Old Saybrook, CT. When I get my feet in the water I'll wave to you. This is my second week of SWF and it's amazing the beautiful photography.

I like your last picture here, the Empire State Building never loses its character, at least not for me.
Didn't those fast moving clouds come in off the Atlantic and the squalls associated were tropical in nature?
We had Dolly down here to keep us busy, I get my NYC weather from Letterman.
I'm glad you found that bright Midwest--Kansas--sky pretty, I did too except for the BK sign. :-)

This is an excellent shot, the sky is so dramatic and the Empire State Building just seems to be reaching towards the heavens.

Very nice shot. I used to live in lower Manhattan in the late 70's. I always used to get lost when coming out of the subway in the midtown area, until I figured out I could use the Empire State Building as a landmark.

Now I live in Laos. My Sky Watch Friday post is here. Hope you enjoy it.

A very dramatic shot and from an interesting angle. I wouldn't have known what building it was if you hadn't mentioned it!

Thanks for visiting my SWF and your comments. Have a wonderful sky watch weekend!
