yesterday was an otherwise dreary gray day had I not noticed this florescent pumpkin begging for attention. around these parts halloween is one of those holidays where people trying to earn a living get creative. I have seen "authentic" haunted houses complete with actors, pumpkin picking on farms and garden nurseries and even "safe" halloween parties held at churches. the corn mazes are not specifically related to halloween other than both the corn and the pumpkins are ready around the same time adding to the festivities for those that like to do a little more than pumpkin picking.

I think the ads was meant to blend with the halloween season. :-)
Interesting, Lily. For "maze" I've found on the dictionary and on Google: "labirinto". Is a maze a sort of carpet?
Ha! Actually, I wonder if the person who made the sign for the maze (labyrinth) knew he/she was making a pun on 'maize' (corn!)
Anyway, I like this, and I would go do the maze.
I looked up Maze in Wikipedia, I hope this definitions helps;Maze - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A maze is a complex tour puzzle in the form of a complex branching passage through which the solver must find a route.

PS I took my son and his cousins to a corn maze at Queens County Farm Museum if you go here you can see a photo of a maze at the top of their website.
It was a fun thing to do but it took a long time to find our way out of it!
I think Corn Ma(i)ze is sort of an oxymoron .. or at the very least repetitious .. ;-)
it looks like there is an apple sign on the other side
perhaps there is cider at the end of the maze :)
A corn maze - or "maize maze" - is always fun.
I always associate a corn ma(i)ze with Halloween (timing, as you say). Maybe this will help explain it for Pietro.
Kinda corny, but then I've never heard of a corn maze before...I think Bibi is right to wonder about the pun...
