please click on photo to see more details.

extraordinary, exquisite, exceptional is exactly how I would describe the pollock house. this historical gem is truly a remarkable piece of art history on the eastern end of long island in the springs, near east hampton. I took this photo while visiting last autumn. please go here for more info on the pollock house. today's post is part of mrs. nesbitt's abc wednesday. you guessed it, today is the letter E! for more E stories, please go here.
do you have an extraordinary place you love to visit here on long island, or anywhere else for that matter?

The only place on Long Island I have been is Brookhaven for research. Oh, and a really good Pizza place :) I would love to explore Long Island, I'll keep the Pollack House on my list.

Extraordinary - an interesting word and I had to really think if my fav. places were extraordinary. At least for me, my favorite is Old Bethpage Village historic site. I've been there more times than I can remember. One year a friend took me there for my birthday.

Other places - Caumsett State Park, Sunken Meadow State Park, any of the Beach areas are wonderful.

There is much to love about Long Island - arboretums, gardens, and of course - again, the wonderful beaches

Nice photo of Pollock's house. It looks as intriguing as the artist himself.
I saw the movie, Pollock and fantasized about having a large country home like this to spend the summer and relax. ;-)
