please click on photo to see fountain up close
I first read about these little water fountains over at jessica's rome photo blog. I can only say how grateful we were to find these around every corner exactly at the moment we needed them most. it was blistering hot while we were in rome and although we carried water with us, it was a real treat to splash our faces and rinse our hands under the cool refreshing water .

Here in Turin there are little water fountains too. They are called "torèt" (little bull). If you want to see one of them, click here.
Wonderful composition!
Can I get it to paste on my desktop?
I'd actually be tempted to drink from one of those water fountains, Lily!
Wonderful photo. It made me thirsty!
Pietro, thanks for the link. yours is such a cool little fountain in Turin.
Nori, email me & I will send you the photo. lily.hydrangea@gmail.com
shell, actually I was very tempted & it probably would have been OK. my husband & son did & they were fine.
As a child, I remember visiting such a fountain in the Wissahickon Park in Phila. We had good water at home, but somehow the fountain water was more delicious.
What a nice way to refresh ... love the little smart cars
Great photo, Lily—it looks so inviting. I loved these fountains too. The water is cool and delicious. (If it's not potable, the fountain is clearly marked, so no worries.)
Except for the heat your trip sounds fantastic. I'm enjoying the pictures.
