fierce rain and 60 mph winds



this is what the roads looked like early saturday evening during the storm. lots of water spraying upwards and cars driving too fast. other than the telephone & electrical wires sparking what looked like fire next to a large tree in front of our neighbors saturday night and our lights flickering all weekend, we fared this weekends storm rather well. it could have been a lot worse, it could have been snow!

it was a messy one...just glad i don't live by the coast...never ceases to make me wonder why anyone would build on sand in this kinda weather!

Saw from Alexa's post that indeed your weather has been less than desirable. Trees can do A LOT of damage.

An excellent photo. My daughter - the one still on LI - emailed to tell me about it. We'd had it the day before, but not so bad as you. Glad you got through it without too much trouble.

Quite a storm! The uprooted trees in the post above this one remind «Louis» of that huge storm on New Year's Eve/Day 1999/2000 in France that destroyed thousands and thousands of trees. «Louis» will never forget one huge old tree on its side, the roots ripped out of the ground, with a Citroën perched precariously on the roots.
