sump reflections and an anniversary giveaway on the first day of spring

Two years ago today I started Long Island Daily Photo after spending several days visiting Eric Tenin's paris daily photo. To say the least, Eric Tenin is a great inspiration to me as well as to many other daily photo blogs, thank you Eric!

Todays picture is of one of the 3,000 sumps that reside on long island. Their purpose is to collect rainwater from road sewers. As a child, my friends and I ice skated here when one winter the water froze over. Guess who fell in?
