before I started this daily photo blog I used to look up at the sky on a fairly regular basis. I could never get over the fact that despite living on such a traffic congested island where there seems to be an almost compulsive need to build onto every square inch of land, you could easily turn your thoughts to serenity and peace by the simple act of gazing up at the sky.
soon after this blog was born, I stumbled upon the 'skywatch friday meme'. it seemed like the perfect place for me to document my experiences of looking upwards. why not join in the fun I thought, I've always enjoyed this habit of looking and seeing what is 'up' and now I would have an instant venue to share those images with others.
today, 'skywatch friday' is celebrating 3 years of skywatching. thank you klaus, sandy, wren, fishing guy and sylvia for making this possible every week!

Though I am always drawn to the rabbit in the moon, I have to go with the wonderfully dark action shot of the birds...
Finding peace by looking at the sky.... I think that is the essence of skywatch. I think we all seek that peace. You say and show it so well.

I'm hard-pressed to pick a favorite here—they're all spectacular! But the birds and the moon kind of grab me. Keep on lookin' up!
I spend so much time looking up that I'm constantly tripping over everything. The moon shot - STUNNING!!! Love the birds took, they are so difficult to capture. Great shots
