montauk's rocky beach

whenever I stay in montauk I feel compelled to take very long walks on the beach. someday I plan on spending an entire day doing so. my plan will most definitely include stopping for a picnic lunch as well as some serious rock and shell collecting. just thought you'd like to know.
this shot is from a shorter walk I took this past june. it's on the south shore about a mile east of the beach resorts that are located in the center of town. most of the beach here is all sand until you get to this stretch of rocky terrain that can be a little tricky walking over. it is so worth it.

today's post is dedicate to the letter B. if you'd like to see other representations of the letter B or if you'd like to add your own B representation please visit 'abc wednesday'.

I love the color of the water against the rocks. Wonderful shot of a beautiful rocky beach.
I, too, love the rocky shore of Montauk! I always collect pretty rocks and driftwood to bring home with me. Wonderful photo!

What a colorful array of rocks! I can see why you would want to walk all day!
I love this terrain even though it's difficult to walk on. It looks so beautiful, really!

This looks a wild and remove area - a nice place to get away and relax with nature..

Love this photo. When the tide goes out here I like to scramble over similar rocks in search of shells. One time a found a large piece of jade. Mostly I find old golf balls.

It's a rustic beach with rocks. I like it though - very "sauvage".

It is beautiful, but does look a little hard on the feet!

You brought out the power of that place. The eons of gravity and sunlight and patience smoothing those boulders. Power and patience. Nourishment for life.

Montauk is a magical place, that's for sure! The picture is excellent. :)

Your photo reminds me of a section of beach near me that's only accesible during low tide, but from it are the most beautiful views.

Lovely stone colors which look like they are newly deposited there from the cliffs. I also love taking photos of shores and stones there, and i have collections of rock colors. thanks
Wow, what a spectacular photo. Am surprised that there is a sandy beach adjacent to it.
