I found this while continuing my walk down 32nd street (see yesterday's post) towards penn station. I love how it's painted the same taxi cab yellow as a typical nyc cab is.

Sometimes I wonder how the drivers can pedal those things all day...especially when they carry more than one person at a time!

Yes, we have them here in Dublin too! I think they're a great idea. Here, they're free, sponsored by companies who get their logo on them, but you can tip the rider if you want.
Are they free in long Island?

Gayle, I've only seen a few men ride these & they always look extremely fit & are always carrying two if not three passengers.
Nori, I'm not sure what the rules are. this is the first time I've seen one parked & the driver was nowhere to be found. Perhaps he was inside taking a break!
As far as the size of their passengers, I hope the driver charges accordingly.

Personally I wish more people would use bicycles in NYC. It would be much safer, healthier & cleaner.
