Montauk-Bookshop-on-Long-Island-in-New-York

small though it may be, it is still a lovely place to browse for books. I hope this is one small bookstore that never closes! montauk bookshop is one place I always visit whenever I am in montauk. today is abc wednesday and today's letter is the letter B. if you'd like to see other representations of the letter B, or if you'd like to add your own B representation, please visit 'abc wednesday' .

Interestingly, we've had some major book chains close down here recently, but the small independents seem to be hanging in there {touch wood}. This one looks lovely, Lily.

I keep hoping that the bookstore will survive. And books.

I love browsing in a great bookstore even if I don't plan on buying anything... they just smell good!

There is something very special about small privately owned bookshops ... as evidenced by this photo

That does look like a friendly and welcoming place! I hope it never closes, too!

I saw a hideous thing today; in a cut price bookstore, they had tipped a hundred or so hardbacks and paperbacks into a deep cardboard bin all higgledy-piggledy. Not only could you not get to the ones underneath to see what they were, but they were all getting damaged! Horrible!

That looks like a true, honest to goodness bookstore!

It seems bookstores are closing right and left.
I hope some of these small shops can stay open. I love browsing in them.

I know—and love—this place too. Let's hear it for the independent bookseller!

Independent bookshops are places that love books, unlike the chains that just want to sell books. This one looks very welcoming.

I'm with you, there's something special about a small, independently owned bookshop. This one is the essence of charming.

This place looks as if it has great ambiance. I'm always glad to see small bookshops doing well, even if they're not close enough for me to visit.

Oh most bookstores are so massive..., but nothing is as special as a small bookstore where you can browse and perhaps have a cup of tea.
