deer and their ticks are everywhere in montauk - unless you stay away from the grass and the trees and pretty much everything. one evening my family and I took a drive out to east hampton for ice cream and as we strolled down main street, we spotted a family of five deer in someone's driveway. it was a very spacious very long driveway and at first I didn't notice them until I saw a larger one from the group move. it was amazing how they blended into their environment. it was dusk so all I got was a bunch of blurry photos. I should really start carrying a tripod with me.

I would say double YIKES!! don't like ticks don't like fleas.
I'm rather terrified of ticks because I might not notice. One of my best friends now has a pacemaker as a direct result of a tick bite.

Ticks are about the worst! Not the part of long Island I'd want to see on a visit!
Just finished Great Gatsby. Would be looking for "the billboard."
Loved the deer in my yard when I lived in Connecticut, hated having to check for ticks...
The worst part of having a dog, we don't have any deer... is checking on ticks...
Carry a tripod? HA. You need a sherpa to do that ... what you need to do is stand perfectly still...hold your breath and tuck your elbows into your sides to steady the camera and press the shutter as slowly/gently as you can and I promise you wont need either a tripod or someone to carry it for you
Just looking at the photo makes my hair stand a little bit lol!
My ABC, please come and see.
Yikes is right! These little guys are a menace at our place. Perhaps I need to put up a warning sign, too.

P.S. so happy to have you following southwest Michigan, also home to much, too much poison ivy!!!!
Ticks. Bleh. By the way. Isn't it true that some birds - geese? turkey? - take care of ticks?
I was at a friend's house when they found a tick just sitting there on the family room wall
it was creepy
I feel so bad for the deer, more and more of their space is being devoured by construction of homes that will never sell
Deer in the driveway is a daily occurrence at my house! So we have our fair share of ticks in the yard as well. while not afraid of them (ticks), I have no love for them either.
