suburban still life...& give away!

notice anything familiar in this "still life"? hanging on the wall is a photofiddle of one of my recent photographs from long island daily photo. photofiddle is an internet company that takes your favorite photos and turns them into artwork. I sent them a jpeg of my original orange poppies I just recently posted here and within 24 hours they sent me a bunch of previews of different styles of art from which I could choose. I picked the deep sponge image which is what you see in the above picture. When I showed it to my son he said it looked psychedelic and thought it would make a cool album cover. we decided it looked perfect against the green walls in his room.

if you would like a chance to win a $50 gift certificate from photofiddle, please leave a comment here. I will pick the winner this coming monday. it might make a nice father's day gift! also, photofiddle extended a 15% discount to all of my readers. just type LIPHOTO15 into the promotion code box and click apply when you get to the shopping cart page.

Psychedelic art looks good on the walls of your paradise.

That is Seriously Cool! And it does look awesome on the green wall. Nice job, Miss Lilly!

PS - what's a "sponge" image??

how nice? there is nothing like real artwork on the walls, and it's even better when it's yours.

There is a homey glow to this scene

Absolutely gorgeous!

I like the skull with glasses, too. ;-)

The final result is great and looks fantastic on that wall. The skull is funny.

Love it! Very colorful and really neat. The skull is cute too, lol. It's funny but when I think of Long Island, all I think of is hustle and bustle and pavement, skyscrapers, you name it. So your photos really are quite a surprise. But I'm glad that you shared them with us :) it shows me a side of LI that I'd never seen before!

Thanks you guys for your encouraging and very nice comments.

Islipian, I'm not really sure what "sponge" image means. I just picked the technique I liked best from the many previews they sent me. I can only guess it may be their name for impressionistic interpretation. You can't really see the details in this photo too easily, but that is what the canvas looks like.

I was never one to fiddle around with greater possibilities...so I must comment that I do like what the Fiddler did. Tis quite creative. But, it is your shot, of course, that provides the basis of their creativity!

Wow... that makes a stunning piece of wall art. You have a good eye for texture and colore - want to come decorate my house? I do great photos, but not much in great decorating. Maybe photofiddle can help me make one of my photos into a great piece of wall art and I can start from there.

I would love a photofiddle gift certificate. I would fiddle some of my daughter's pictures in charcoal or fantasy.

This is so cool! I love the Oil Painting style... although the Pop Art is pretty nice too. I would love to win, although I know I would have a really hard time not only decided which style but which picture to use!

Thanks!

That's fabulous. I just got back from my first trip to Yellowstone and I have tons of photos I could turn into art - the only question is which photo to choose!
