maybe it's because I live on long island but I love diners, they seem to be everywhere here. I finally ate at this one last spring. my son and I ordered vanilla milkshakes and the waitress filled our glasses from the big silver cups they used to make the shake in leaving us with some extra goodness.

Love diners, but not chain ones - the best ones are individually owned. Nothing makes me feel I'm in America like a diner.

I was going to say something about your Brooklyn milkshake—but Bibi beat me to it! I love diners too, probably for the same reasons you do. Oh dear, now I'm craving a BLT on rye!
I love diner food too! Their menus are always so extensive and I love how I can order pancakes for supper if I want to! :-)

ha, I agree. There are an awful lot of diners on LI, and they're all full on the weekends!
I absolutely love diners (in NYC) too. I think I eat 50% of my meals there.
I haven't found one in Bangor that I like yet.
