massapequa preserve
how hot was your weekend? it was exremely hot on long island and it seemed like you either needed to stay in air conditioning or you had to be somewhere near water in order to endure the heat.
this was the massapequa preserve yesterday around ten am. I rode my bike there to get some exercise. when I stopped for a water break on a small bridge this was my view.

We were sweltering here, of course. It became suddenly better yesterday and we had our walk through Prospect Park.

There are many access points to the preserve. I think the ones near Masssapequa Park are the nicest areas & have the most recent improvements with benches and stone walkways by the water and newly paved pathways to use for exercise. It really is a great place to walk or ride bikes with children. I will be posting more about it tomorrow. If you type Massapequa Preserve into my search bar a couple of links will pop up with more info as well.
Here it has been very hot the last week, now it's cooler with a bit of wind.
