a flower from a block island flower box

I was lucky I had a few sunny days in block island last week. it's supposed to rain here on long island all day today and for once I am not complaining about the weather. we really do need the rain. happy monday everyone.
today's post is dedicated to both 'mellow yellow monday' and 'today's flowers' - only because I couldn't decide between the two and didn't want to miss out on either one. I know I am being selfish so I promise I will do my best to visit everyone who is participating. please click on the links to join in the fun.

Superbly beautiful flower, so sharp, too!

Each petal looks as though it has just dipped the tiniest bit of its skirt into red ink. Gorgeous effect. The stamen looks a smidge past its use-by-date. I like images of imminent decay rather than beauty beauty beauty.

Rainy in Massachusetts, too. Some great yellows in flowers this time of year.

Wow this flower is so pretty! And I like the back light too.
I missed the show last night I love to watch shows that are documentary or educational. Like the moon that I was talking about in my blog. I think so too that it has affect on people. I remember one time my brother a cop, my cousin a nurse and us cousins talking about high tide, low tide and the moon. And my brother and cousin agreed that if it's full moon they are kind of busy ^_^, things happened to people for some reasons. But I saw a show on tv too, and somebody says it's not true but what ever it is I will believe to those people who are in the field and who happens to observe a lot than just behind a book. Thanks for the visit here is my MYM

I visited Block Island eons ago - it was pretty, but it smelt funny and it had terrible drinking water - the coffee tasted awful.

Lovely photos.

The flower is so perfect for the name, I normally draw my flowers like this.
To answer your question..., I've only been to Block Island once!

I went during off season for a few days, all by myself, it was a bit cold in the hotel (picked the wrong one), but otherwise it was wonderful!
