I loved eating here. the food is fairly reasonably priced and if you sit outside on the grand porch, you get an ocean view plus a view of everyone walking by on water street.
in the picture below, you can see 'the ice cream place' sign but not the ice cream shop. that is under the arch and around the back of the building. we had ice cream for dessert there every night we were in block island. it's homemade and very creamy. yum.
I took both these photos around 7am one morning when I woke up early to watch the sunrise with my hubby and our son ian - which explains the warm sunlit glow on these buildings as well as the empty sidewalks. it was so nice and quiet and definitely worth getting up for.

The buildings look very inviting. Would love to try the food there.
Love that hotel...which window would be mine?
It's also one of my fave things to do when I travel—get up at dawn—for the quiet, the light, and the sense of "owning" the place. You've captured it all here. (And now I want ice cream for breakfast!)
What a delightful looking hotel! I would love to stay there! How fun! Great photos, Lily! Hope you have a wonderful day!

Reminds me of the BIG purple hotel in Cape May
It looks huge, it must be fun for a kid to play hide and seek...
What a nice hotel! I'd like to spend some days there! Beautiful photos, Lily!
