I love how this woman stared straight into the camera as I photographed her. she reminded me
of the famous painting by edouard manet, 'bar at the folies bergères’. this was taken as I walked past bryant park early last thursday evening. a few steps away I looked up and saw these amazing trees just inside the park, a beautiful oasis in the middle of a noisy city.

Beautiful shots, Lily!
The first one is super!!
Perfect shot for a busy waitress in the middle of her work! Have a lovely day!
I can see I've missed a lot of really excellent shots recently.
Where to begin?
Nice Lily.
Manet surely would have paint this woman if he had lived now :)
Its a busy park .. I bet there was some sort of event being catered ..
Love the park pic, PGma
Terrific captures, Lily! Love the first one and your composition is always the best! Have a great day!
Sylvia
they're both great shots
the server is probably an actress ;) so she likes the camera
Yes, indeed she does remind me of the Manet painting. Did you tell her? She'd be flattered.
Thank you for all of your nice comments everyone! You always make my day!
Hi Bibi, I was walking as I took this, barely stopping for the shot since I was lagging behind a group of people & felt a little rushed. I didn't see the Manet reference until after I uploaded it. Maybe she will find her way here somehow!
Thank you very much!
:-)
You are a very good observer and photographer. I love the waitress pic.
:-)))
This is so interesting because the instant I saw this photo pop up in my reader I thought, it's just like that famous painting by that, that guy...his name and the name of the painting escaped me so thanks for putting it up there! Great shot.
She does remind me of that painting! It's like she's the only one who sees "the artist". Great shot.
stunning shots:)

This great shot reminds me to go here way more often!
I have a weak spot for catering staff. Always have. She's stunning.
The Fred Effect
Yes, I love the first picture too. She's almost posing for you.
