I thought the sky added a touch of beauty to this otherwise typical long island landscape. this giant 24 hour cvs was just built right around the corner from winthrop university hospital in mineola on jericho turnpike. if you'd like to see more skies from all around the world, please go here thanks to klaus and his team, sandy, ivar, fishing guy, wren and louise.

I really like this, lily, and would love to come back tomorrow, but I'm spending the weekend (Happy Mother's Day, btw) with my own fabulous 89-year-old mom (who for some reason has a resistance to the Internet—go figure, as we say in Bklyn).
When I lived in Astoria, there was a really nice diner near my apartment that was open all night long. During my summer break, I would sometimes go downstairs to the diner and order a half roast chicken with mash potatoes and gravy at 3 AM in the morning.
