last december skywatch

this looks so much worse than it actually is. This factory is a processing plant that efficiently breaks down garbage and the smokestack is actually letting out steam. I wish I could remember the name of it. I pass it when driving on the meadowbrook parkway over by westbury. does anyone know what it is called?
for more beautiful skywatch pictures, please go here.
happy friday everyone.

A great contribution - good to know that it is steam and not smoke :)

I'm thinking it's something like Ref-fuel, but I'm not sure. I'll check with my husband and see if he knows the name of this place. I think they give tours to kids once a year.

He said they used to be Ref-fuel, but now it's something that starts with a C.

Everyone should be allowed to let off steam now and again.

I worked in radio at 92-7 WDRE located in the building next door. The factory had a different name back then which escapes me as does the current one. Great pic anyhow!

I have seen before it but never have heard the name.

It is an interesting picture. It looks cold out.

Thanks for sharing your view of the horizon, always interesting to see what folks find to share with us. Your sky is so blue in this photo.

I asked my L.I. daughter, but she doesn't know the name either. She's here for Christmas this year.

When I was little I thought this was Rapunzel's tower, and every time we drove by I would look for her at the top, and the prince on his horse at the bottom!
