this skywatch photo was taken last friday on long beach just before noon. the temperatures were beyond frigid. despite the cold, I am glad I was able to go. we live so close to the beaches here on long island it seems a shame not to experience it during every season.
to see more beautiful skies from all around the world, please go here.

You are fortunate to live near the beach. Here in flyover country, we flatlanders have the cold -- and the wind. But we get some good skies, too. Thanks for sharing!
It has all the right natural ingredients for the winter time.
I don't have to go anywhere but here. I love love love the beach in winter! Thanks for posting this.
Beautiful shot!
Wonderful - definately my type of sky and the sea too!
I think one can bare & brave the cold when the sunshines so brightly for you.
Best wishes

It is sparkling like a diamant. Beautiful picture!
Have a nice weekend!
Long Beach was one of my favorite places! As a child, I had relatives who had a home on the Bay...in my 20's a friend who lived near the Ocean and then we started going to the clubs there and going full circle as after moving to PA to visiting a best friend who moved there!
Quite a history for me and filled with memory. The photo is beautiful and I admit to a tad bit of envy of being able to visit Long Beach - especially during the Winter when it is quiet.
