a lost dog for today's mellow yellow monday...

I passed this sign as I drove down melville road the other day. it was hanging on the fence directly across from beechwood street on melville road. you can see the exact location on google maps right here. apparently the dog was picked up by a man in a car right where this sign is and the owner is asking for information that may lead to finding his lost dog. I really hope this person finds his dog.
a few feet down the road stands a larger picture of the dog that you can see below.
please stop by drowsey monkey's mellow yellow monday if you are at all interested in the color yellow.

I really really hope the person who picked that dog up thought he was rescuing a stray—and that he sees this sign and returns the dog to its owner. Would love to see a happy ending to this post, Lily.

I hope Alexa is right. Maybe the man did think he was doing something nice.
Perfect post for MYM, although I'm sure the dog owner isn't feeling very mellow.
I hope someone reads your blog and helps get this dog reunited with his family before Christmas.

This is so sad! Clearly the dog is loved so much by the owner! Perhaps the man who took the dog thought the dog was lost! Maybe he needed a friend! The story could be doubly sad! Do hope it all works out! A great post!

The wording of the signs show how much the dog is loved, I hope he will be returned soon. How terrible for the owner to lose his furry friend so close to Christmas.

Oh, no. As your other concerned commenters have already said, hopefully it was a would-be Good Samaritan and this little fellow will be back home again in no time.

How terribly sad to lose a pet. If the person who picked him up thought he was lost, then you would have thought he would have put up a sign or contacted the local shelter. I'm sure the family who owns the dog is suffering.

Sad to lose a pet during this time of year. Alexa has the right idea! I'm going to go with her version of what happened, and everyone lives happily ever after. ~karen

Oh no .. I dont understand the workings of some people's minds or actions .... Poor dog must be feeling very lost indeed without his true people ... I hope he's located and whoever took him gets arrested.

Not that there's a good time to lose your dog, but especially now when people are in the holiday mood, distracted by all this cheer...I feel for this person who lost their dog. I often take our Nunuk with me to the video store or the library to return items and leave him outside. My heart pounds like crazy until I'm back out and with him. I really hope this man gets his dog back.

pity the eye witness didn't have a camera.

Oh no. This is heartbreaking. My initial thoughts were not positive ones but I'm hoping those who have commented are right about it perhaps being a good deed. I really hope the dog is safe. The poor owner must be frantic. So sad.
