God is Love

I pass this sign at least twice a week. it is posted outside the
westbury friends school. although this is a quaker school it is open to all children. a few feet from this sign, there is a larger one that reads, save darfur. I find seeing these signs of social conscience very inspiring. when I went to the school's website I was happy to see the Obama family is sending their daughters to a quaker school.
long island is filled with many different people who are free to practice what they believe in. today's post represents part of my world, a place where I am happy to be among such a diverse group of people.

Wonderful photograph, Lily.
Those words are so right. Yes, God is Love: we are milliards on the earth, and He deeply knows us one by one.

Nice scenery on your part of the world. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you.
Nicely written. I agree let us all live in harnony and celebrate our differences.

There is a great historical Quaker site at the intersection of Shelter Rock Road and Northern Blvd in Manhasset. I remember visiting it on a grade school trip one year. In subsequent years when I worked for minimum wage on the miracle mile, I would drive past there everyday. It always made me smile, thinking back to those days earliest of innocence. Happy Holidays to you and your family.

Morty!
What a progressive school! I think it's great to teach kids social responsibility early on.
Lily: What a neat view of the forward thinking of the school.
