have you ever noticed some flower petals feel just like soft velvet? these little buds on this lavender plant felt a bit like velvet to me as well, which was convenient since I happened to be looking for something to photograph pertaining to the letter V.

Velvet! That was a good word for 'V'. I love the velvety feeling of the little soft balls or buds on Sage and collected a few to take back with me last time we were in the desert -- only to find I'm allergic to them and had a bout of asthma. How about kitten's ears too.
