a wall of cucumbers is what this is. I personally have never seen anything like it. pretty cool, don't you think? and I can tell you that here on long island, people love sharing what they grow. I personally have been eating fresh cucs since last month thanks to the gardeners, aka mom and dad, that planted here.

I think it's awesome to be able to grow your own stuff and then enjoy it with others. My mom's been eating a lot of cucumbers lately -- all store-bought, though. *sigh*

P.S. did you have hail in your area? I thought I heard on the news that there was a lot of hail in L.I. and N.J., about a day ago?

I am so jealous of your parents garden- if only I wasn't all brown thumbs! - I guess I need a friend with a garden...

It looks so big that if you went inside it you'd never find your way out again. The cucumbers must be HUGE!

paz, it is awesome, do you ever go to the green market in Union Square on Wed. or sat.? they have lots of fresh stuff there. I used to get all my tomatoes there when I lived in Manhattan.
we didn't have hail, but we had a brief tornado warning yesterday. I heard the sky was actually green!

Thanks Louis, I am adding you as well!! I don't know why I didn't think of it sooner.

lisa, I wish you lived down the block!

Arnold, my husband said the cucumbers look like they were grown near a nuclear power plant, that's how big they are!

We had hail a couple of days ago, we live a mile from LH, there was waterspouts out of the sound, and spouts over land, that didn't hit the ground, thank goodness. The hail that came down yesterday was quarter and golf ball size in Suffolk County north shore. Lots of flooding all over the island. Something strange with the weather on the island this year.

oh my gosh, paz, you just reminded me that I DREAMT about hail last night! how weird is that? and it was crazy GIANT hail, like...meteors! 5' high at least! They exploded on impact with the ground. Ha, like some kind of crazy end-of-the-world movie.

but oh, yeah, cucumbers! if the folks need anyone to share with, I could do a cuke-pick-up drive by any time!

wouldn't mind some of those tomatoes either...

thanks for the report Prissy! sounds very interesting, I'm dying to know, what is a waterspout?

Islipian, maybe it was hailing out while you were sleeping?
I was caught in a hail storm once when we lived in Manhattan and we literally had to run for cover.
A cucumber drive by! that's a good one Islipian, LOL!

Hi Lily: No, I don't go to the Farmers Market down on 14th street. It's too far from me and I'm not crazy about carrying groceries on the bus or subway back home for a long length of distance. There's a Farmers Market in my neighborhood but it sucks. It's a much smaller one.

Anywho... I came here looking for the moon pic, which isn't up yet. *pout* I plan on posting another one on Thursday. Can't wait to see your photo.

Islipian: Interesting that you dreamnt about hail. I wonder what that means. I like the idea about the drive by, please put me on the list for an order.

Paz ;-)

I've never seen such fantastic looking cucumber plants. Cucumber has to be one of my all time favourite vegetables. I love corned beef and cucumber sandwiches!
