cherries under sky

the really neat thing about skywatching in spring is being able to look at pretty things like ripening cherries up in your cherry tree while you sit beneath them gazing up at a boring grey sky. only, the sky isn't so bad when these pretty cherries are in the way! I don't know if I would have noticed this otherwise but in looking back through my archives, we always seem to have stormy weather around the same time our cherries start to get ripe. check out this 'cherry tree with storm clouds'.
if you'd like to see more skies from all around the world or if you'd like to add your own sky, please visit the skywatch friday meme, thanks to klaus and his team, sandy, wren, fishing guy, and sylvia.

It may be a boring gray sky (and I do know about those!) but to be able to look up and see these against that gray sky makes it all worthwhile to look up! Marvelous capture, Lily, as always! Have a lovely weekend!

Cherries sure do add lots of bright summery kind of accents to your view of the sky.

Great contrast of colors. Almost like Christmas. Whoops, before you know it, it will be Christmas in July. PGma

Had it been a bright, sunny day, you might not have noticed these cherries (before the birds got to them).

I am impressed that you have a cherry tree in your yard!

Yummy!! Fresh cherries. There was a mature cherry tree right on the property line between me and the empty house next door. But the caretaker came along one day with his chainsaw and cut it (while it was in fruit, no less) and every other tree down. Men and chainsaws...arghhhhh! When questioned, he said it was to make the property look bigger.
