does this strike you as odd? I love this idea. I think the keepers of this house have a lovely sense of humor. while we were taking pictures a woman walking by told us about a home in wantagh that has a pirate ship on their front lawn. according to her, there will be pirates acting out frightening scenarios halloween night. there is more to this story too. she said somehow they raise money for breast cancer research. I am hoping I will be able to find out more about this halloween pirate ship. what is the best halloween decoration you have ever seen?

very original !I show the photo to my 8 years old son and he said "waou i coudn't survive if i saw that in reality "...and he ran away,I hope nightmares won't come tonight ;)
What a great, peculiar way of decorating a house! I'd love to experience Halloween in America - we just don't do it here in Australia
I have a neighbor with a grave-yard in their front yard. I think it's a little over the top but I guess it's fun when the kids are small. When my sons were younger, the most we did was a parade in costume at their local elementary school.
I really love the spiders on this house. Very clever idea. But maybe they could use a nice web as well.
It certainly is an arresting decoration but I don't think my wife would like it.
Oh Babzy my son can be the same way. I think it is their wonderful imaginations. I hope there are no nightmares!
Not only is this a good "Odd Shots" entry, it would also be a good entry in Aileni's "Monochrome Monday" meme!
What frightens one might attract another, but spiders like that reminds me of Tolkiens "Lord of the rings".
I would have stayed away.

What a great house! It's not too much and it's different.
They had an article in Friday's Newsday about the local houses. The one that I put up in Levittown is there, and they have about the one in Wantagh with the pirate ship.
This is an odd way of decorating houses indeed! Fortunately it's not a real spider!... Beautiful shot!

Now that's very creative and creepy ! Best halloween decoration ? this one :-) In Flanders there are not many Halloween decorations yet, it's just an upcoming event here.
Some people just have the spirit. So many possibilities for creativity.
