little switzerland dolls in huntington

do you notice the shadows in this window display? I have been participating in shadow shot sunday for the last few sundays and it has been really helpful in changing the way I have been looking at subjects to photograph. I was really struck by how this establishment put this together with such dramatic lighting and color. I think it is really neat when people go out of their way to make something pleasing to the eye. if you click on the photo, you can see greater detail. please go here if you would like to see more interesting shadow shots.

Hello Lily!
They're pretty dolls!
they might walk around in the middle of the night!
of course it's a jork!

Yes, the shop window is harmoniously composed with beautiful lights and shades!

What a beautiful window display! Love your photo of it! It is nice to see people still making the effort with window displays. Such a rarity these days (in my parts anyway). It's a gorgeous work of art. Those dolls look like they're about to spring to life any minute :)

This is one of my favorite places to visit. I love this store and am so very happy to know it is there and have a peek in the window.

A friend and I always did lunch once a month in Huntington (during the winter)and definitely made a stop to browse the window. I still miss Christmas in Huntington and Northport.

I didn't notice the shadows upon my first look, but as we delve deeper into Hey Harriets shadow hunting, they become more apparent...like little angel wings, just barely showing their secret...cool shot.

I always enjoy a good window display. It doesn't only make the shop look better but it also adds to the town's appearance.

Maybe you can teach a class on lights and shadows. I know people who have taken classes on it.

It's a lovely display. And it's a great shadow as well.

1. I like window shopping in photos :-) 2. Terrific fairy tale like tower with moon you showed for the skywatch.

Cute shop - love how they painted that backdrop on the wall - or is it a collage? The dolls and shadows are fun - bet you're glad you had your camera!!
Happy SSS!
